Clear Cache on Microsoft EdgeĬlearing cache in Microsoft Edge is a simple task that is almost similar to the process that is present on other browsers. However, if you are facing an issue or unexpected behavior on the website, clearing the cache and cookies is the first and foremost step that can help you resolve the issue. The other reason for not clearing the caches and cookies is that it will log you out of all your accounts, and delete your user preferences for websites which will hamper your user experience the next time you visit the website. That being said, some caches will be present in the system for a few days while others can be present for days/years. Typically, it is not recommended to clear or remove the cache and cookies from the computer there are two major reasons for it, first, cache is designed to be automatically removed from your system. While the cache stores information regarding the website locally on your machine, the cookies remember your personal preferences of the website, like cart items, visual settings, and passwords amongst other things. Cache and cookies go hand-in-hand when it comes to web browsing.

The rest part will detail 5 methods to reformat a memory card. How should I reformat my SD card? The process of reformatting an SD card is quite straightforward and can be done via various devices, including Windows computers, Mac, and Android phones. Use the appropriate tool: if you want to format the SD card to Ext4 file system, or format a large SD card (e.g., 64GB) to FAT32, Windows File Explorer or Disk Management won't help, and you need to download a third-party SD card formatter such as DiskGenius Free Edition. If the SD card is write-protected, the formatting won't be completed.Ĭonnect the SD card properly: if you plan to reformat the SD card on your computer, then connect the SD card via a card reader and ensure it can be recognized by computer correctly. You can copy files to your computer hard drive or another USB storage device to ensure they won't be lost after the formatting.Ĭheck for write protection: Check if your SD card has a physical write protection switch and make sure the switch is placed on the unlocked side. You are likely to receive an error message when trying to open the SD card, such as " you need to format the disk in drive before you can use it", formatting is a good way to repair corrupted SD cards.īefore you proceed with reformatting your SD card, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure a smooth reformatting process and prevent data loss:īack up your data: Make sure you have a valid backup of files that stored on the SD card to be formatted. The file system on the SD card is corrupted. You are experiencing compatibility issues with the SD card, for example, the device requires a different file system, and you need to reformat the SD card to change file system (e.g., from FAT32 to EXT4). You want to perform a regular maintenance for the SD card to improve the overall reliability and performance. Over time, data stored on the SD card can become fragmented, resulting in worn out and reduced performance. Reformatting can quickly remove everything. Your photos, videos, and other files have reached the maximum capacity, and you want to free up space to get a fresh start. There is not enough space on the SD card. Reformatting can be helpful to resolve such issues, for it restores the memory card to its original state. Your SD card displays unexpected errors or files become corrupted for no reason. Why do we need to reformat an SD card? There can be several scenarios that you should consider formatting or reformatting a memory card, for example: If you format an SD card by mistake, you can try recovering data from SD cards using a free data recovery tool. Tip: Files are not permanently lost after the SD card gets formatted, for formatting process does not wipe data completely. Reformatting an SD card also removes all data and restores the SD card to a blank state for storing new data. The process erases the existing file system and replaces it with a new file system. What happens when you reformat an SD card? The "reformatting" means the formatting operations done after the first formatting. Moreover, the formatting process deletes all data stored on the device. It creates file system structure to make the partition ready for data storage. In this article, we will provide you with 5 step-by-step instructions on reformatting an SD card, along with tips and FAQs.įormatting is typically used when preparing a new storage device such as an SD card, USB drive or hard drive for initial use. Whether you are dealing with corrupted SD cards, compatibility problems, or simply want to clear SD card data, reformatting is an effective method. These tiny storage devices are essential for expanding storage capacity, but like any other storage medium, they can encounter issues that require reformatting. These small, yet powerful storage devices have found their way into a wide range of devices, including digital cameras, smartphones, gaming consoles, and laptops. In today's digital age, the use of memory cards has become commonplace. The other PC icon vPCx and the SerialCloud are also cloud type nodes.Ĭlose the Node configurator and click the green “ go” icon on the toolbar to start your router. Notice that there is already a mapping for nio gen_eth:eth0 associated with this particular node – which by the way is a node of type Cloud in the GNS3 configuration, but has had an icon looking like a PC associated with it. In the Node configurator dialogue that opens, select Local Network in the left-hand pane, and then select the NIO Ethernet tab. Right-click on this PC icon and select configure. This is the link to your Ubuntu’s eth0 interface and your host PC’s Local Area Connection. Take a look at the icon that says Local Network/Your Windows PC. From here, open the lab 1 Router (reset lab). Let’s start in the GNS3 WorkBench environment by opening the Desktop shortcut Standard Layouts. If you can’t, then reading my previous posts ( 1) & ( 2) may help you troubleshoot. You will need to have your Host PC set up to obtain an address automatically for this to work for the eth0 address. You might want to check that your Host PC and guest OS (Ubuntu) can ping each other on these addresses. Check the ip address of your Ubuntu interfaces using the ifconfig command: ifconfig | grep -A 1 eth.Įth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:0c:29:d1:e5:82 Have the GNS3 Workbench VM running, and bring up a konsole command prompt. If you have been following the previous articles, you will have a Windows PC host OS and your Ubuntu Guest OS with IP addresses something like: Host PC Interface IP address Your host PC will need its Ethernet port connected to some physical device to ensure that it is up. It is important that you configure your GNS3 WorkBench Virtual Machine so that your first Virtual Network Adapter is Bridged to your Host PC as explained in my previous postįor the remainer of this article, I’ll assume you are running GNS3 WorkBench v5.6 within a VMware Player (v3.1.4) environment on a Windows based Host PC. It was also while writing this article that I realised that GNS3 Workbench v5.6 was configured with the primary interface (eth0 on Ubuntu) linked to non-existent host interface. The emphasis here was to show you that the interfaces on your guest OS (Ubuntu) are determined by the Network Adapter Settings of your VMware Player. The second article dealt with linking your Virtual Machine’s adapters to your Host PC within the Ubuntu/GNS3-WorkBench environment. In this article, I explained the relationship between your Host PC and the Virtual Interfaces that VMware creates when you install VMware Player, and how to use vmnetcfg.exe. The first article was a tutorial on VMware Interfaces as they relate to your Host PC. This is the third and final article of a series. If you’d like to learn about that relationship, then read on. Once you become familiar with GNS3, the thought soon strikes – how can I get my PC to talk to the routers in my GNS3 configuration? Since GNS3 WorkBench operates within a virtual machine, the process is a little more complicated than running GNS3 directly on your PC because you have to understand the relationship between your Host PC, your Guest OS (Ubuntu in this case) and the virtualised devices in GNS3.
